Dust Country: A Novel (in progress), Finalist for the 2022 Landmark Prize by Homebound Publications and 2022 finalist for The Big Moose Prize by Black Lawrence Press
On April 14, 1935, the biggest dust storm of the Great Depression sweeps across the Southern Plains. In Amarillo, bank president W.H. Farnsworth risks everything to save his banks by driving out in the storm with his grandson and seven sacks of cash. Through the kaleidoscope of six perspectives, Dust Country is a multi-generational family portrait, a queer history, and a story of manmade disaster, economic uncertainty, and social upheaval.
